Resolved to get fit or take up a new challenge in 2013?

Have you resolved to get fit, lose weight or learn a new skill in 2013? If the answer is yes then Mid Argyll Community Pool could help reach your goal. We’re inviting adults who can’t swim to take the plunge and sign up for new Adult Learn to Swim classes.

Swimming is a brilliant, affordable exercise. It uses all the major muscle groups and will give you a cardio workout. There’s no impact on joints and the only equipment you really need is a costume.

Swimming is also a skill that could save your life twice – if you fall into water there’s a much greater chance you’ll get out if you can swim and if you exercise regularly you can reduce the risk of developing heart disease.

And it’s not just beginners who’ll find something to help them stay motivated. Our popular Learn to Crawl sessions, for people who can swim a little but want to improve their front crawl technique, are on Saturdays at 10am.

Last year we increased the number of people on our Learn to Swim programme, with 190 children and adults taking part during the second half of 2012. We’re also really proud that 140 children on our Learn to Swim programme received regular free swimming, which has helped them improve quickly.
