Dye to help pool stay green

At the beginning of April MACPool will be trialling a new water dye to help reduce the amount of pool chemicals and water wasted and keep our bills (and prices) lower. Additives in the water will detect pollution and will turn green to show staff where the impurities lie.

Staff will then be able to scoop out the highlighted green water as soon as it identified, keeping pool cleaning to a minimum. The Foul Out Operator Link system has been successfully used in pools across drought – stricken areas to help reduce the amount of pool chemicals and water wasted.

Pool manager Stuart Owen said: “Early April is traditionally a time for trying new ideas. We’re sure the Foul Out Operator Link System (FOOL) will encourage people to keep the pool clean and help us keep the water sparking.”
